107 years ago, about 600 students, high school students and military volunteers stood up to defend Ukraine against more than 4,000 troops near Kruty. It was not just a battle, but an unequal struggle for the future, which gave a chance to Ukrainian statehood.

To honor the feat of Ukrainian heroes, the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University held a round table "Battle of Kruty (1918): a view from the 21st century in conditions of war."

The event was organized by:

The discussion was attended by teachers, graduate students, students and everyone who cares about the history of Ukraine. And, of course, among them were our international students who know for sure that history is not just facts, but an experience that shapes our future!

During the professional discussion, the following issues were discussed:

- the importance of preserving historical memory and parallels in history;
- destruction of historical myths;
- the heroism of Ukrainians and the relevance of patriotic education based on such examples.

The heroes of Krut made a choice 107 years ago, and today we make this choice! We urge you not to forget the price at which our country gained independence, and also thanks to whom we have the opportunity to live on our native land today!
